Personified
Free avatar photos of real-looking people for any market
Placeholder users made of initials and cartoon SVGs make every prototype look the same. Personified gives you free AI portrait photos with ready personas (name, country, age, mood), so a demo for Brazil or Nigeria shows people who fit. npm i personified.
Hi Product Hunt. Every prototype I opened had the same JD initials, the same cartoon avatars, and names like Jack Miller, even when the product was for India or Nigeria.
Personified is a free library of AI portrait photos. Each face has a name, country, region, age band, gender, skin tone and mood, so you can ask for the people who fit your market:
find({ country: 'Brazil' }), find({ region: 'Europe', band: '60+' }), or pick(userEmail) for the same face per user every time.
Code is MIT, images are free for personal and commercial use with no credit needed. None of these people exist, so the license forbids presenting them as real (fake reviews, fake staff).

Who hunted Personified?
Personified was hunted by Amit yadav. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community. This is the first set. More faces and regions are coming. Which countries should we add next?
