I read a lot (Hacker News, blogs, docs), and during a heated conversation, I'd like to show off by giving references all the time (a lack of self-esteem?).
Problem was, good stuff gets lost in browser bookmarks or buried by SEO. Pocket was the closest fit for me for a while, but the search was awful.
On the other hand, years ago I came across Gordon Bell's MyLifeBits research project. The idea of preserving everything you read and see stuck with me. In general, I think a lot about death, which makes me obsessed with holding on to the past.
So I built Pensive to solve these problems: Everything I read should be kept by my side and be easily and quickly accessible. Above all, this could also turn into a great resource for my personal AI in the future.
