So the real story — my wife and I wanted an easy way to plan our family budget together, and every app we tried was either way overpriced or hid the actually useful stuff behind a subscription. Annoying. So I just built the thing myself.
Pennywick is private (everything stays on your device, no accounts, no data floating around somewhere), and the core features don't require a subscription. It's still a work in progress — I'm actively adding stuff — but I'd rather ship now and improve it with real feedback than sit on it forever.
