Most PDF tools send your files to a server. pdfslash doesn't. Every tool runs directly in your browser using WebAssembly — merge, split, compress, OCR, redact, watermark, and convert PDFs without a single byte leaving your device. No account. No file size limits. No "upgrade to process more" popups. Just open the tool and it works. What makes it different:→ Split by exact file size (1.9MB, 5MB etc) — perfect for visa/court portal uploads→ OCR runs on-device via WebAssembly→ AI Summarize, Translate & Chat with PDF→ Visual drag-and-drop page merger with real page previews→ 100% free, forever — no server = no cost to recover Built for people who handle sensitive documents and don't want to trust a random server with them.

Comment highlights

privacy first approach is refreshing, and the split by exact file size feature actually solved a portal upload headache I'd been wrestling with

Finally a PDF tool I actually trust with sensitive work. Tested the OCR on a scanned contract and it ran entirely in my browser, no waiting on uploads.

Hey PH! đź‘‹

I built pdfslash because I was frustrated

with PDF tools that upload your files, show

you a "processing" spinner, and then limit

you to 5 tasks per day unless you pay.

The whole thing runs in WebAssembly —

your CPU does the work, not mine. That's

why there are no limits and no paywalls.

Would love feedback on which tools you

use most and what's missing. Brutal

honesty welcome!

Finally a PDF tool that actually feels safe to use, the whole thing running in the browser is a nice touch. Splitting by exact file size worked perfectly for a strict upload portal.
