I built PDFMint because every PDF API has the same two problems: you spend hours in a template editor before generating anything, and once you send the document, you have zero idea whether your client actually opened it.
Document Tracking solves the second one every PDF gets a hosted link and a "seen" timestamp, plus an optional webhook the instant it's opened. As far as I can tell, no other PDF generation API does this. It's the DocSend/PandaDoc experience, built into a plain REST API call.
Magic Templates solves the first describe the document you want ("a modern invoice, dark blue accents, French labels") and get a custom, reusable template in about 60 seconds. No drag-and-drop editor.

The tracking feature that tells you when a client opens the invoice is genuinely clever. Most PDF APIs stop at generation, so actually knowing the moment it lands feels like a real product decision, not just a checklist feature.
Finally tried PDFMint and the Magic Templates feature actually delivered, described a branded receipt and got a usable layout back in under a minute. Tracking the open notifications was a nice bonus too.
The open tracking feature is such a thoughtful touch for invoices, knowing exactly when a client opens it removes all that awkward "just checking in" follow-up. Really clean execution on what could've been a clunky API.
The tracking feature is a really smart differentiator. One thing that would make this even more useful for our workflow: webhook support for document events like opened, downloaded, or printed, so we can pipe those signals straight into our CRM and Slack without polling. Would love to see that on the roadmap.
