I built Pastely because I kept copy-pasting the same thing into different apps and manually reformatting it every time a Slack message becoming too formal when I copied it from an email, or code losing its structure when I pasted it somewhere else. felt like something my computer should just handle for me.
so Pastely sits in your menu bar, and when you hit cmd+shift+V, it looks at where you're about to paste and transforms your clipboard to fit casual for chat apps, structured for code editors, clean for email, etc.
a few things about it:
it's a native macOS app (Swift/SwiftUI), so it's fast and lightweight
built the destination-detection myself, it maps apps by bundle identifier and use-case, so it's not just guessing
this is my first Swift project after years of building with Next.js/React, so it's been a fun (and occasionally painful 😅) shift into native Mac development.
