A native macOS quick-access window for Proton Pass. Hit a hotkey from any app, search your logins, copy a username, password or one-time code. Plus an SSH agent that gates your SSH keys behind Touch ID, like 1Password. Keyboard-driven. Free and open source.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built Pass Quick Access because I moved to Proton Pass for the privacy and the European angle, but missed the one thing I used constantly in 1Password: a native quick-access window. Proton ships a solid Electron app, but no system-wide hotkey panel and no UI for SSH agent.
So that's what this is, native to macOS:
- Hit a hotkey from any app, search your logins, and copy a username, password or one-time code, or open the site. No window switching, no waiting for Electron to wake up.
- An SSH agent that serves your Proton Pass SSH keys to git and ssh and asks for Touch ID before every signature, naming the app that's asking. Just like 1Password's.
What I care about most: it never holds your secrets. It drives the official pass-cli under the hood, fetches each field just in time, and hands it straight to the clipboard, nothing cached. Private keys never leave pass-cli; the app only adds the Touch ID prompt.
It's completely free and fully open source, and not affiliated with Proton.
One honest note: it isn't notarized yet, because I'm a solo dev without an Apple Developer membership, so there's a quick first-launch step on macOS. I'm actually looking for a sponsor to cover that, so I can ship it notarized with automatic updates while keeping it free and open.
Would love your feedback, especially from other Proton Pass users.
Proton Pass quick access plus Touch ID-gated SSH keys is a very practical macOS workflow. I like that it’s keyboard-first. Are you planning team/shared vault support, or keeping it focused on personal workflows?
