Hi Product Hunters.. 🎃
I am Mukul, the solo maker behind Padosii. A bit nervous sharing this, but here we go.
I handle the architecture, the code, the UI, the graphic design, and right now I am doing door-to-door flyer distribution in neighbourhoods to onboard my first users, explain to them about the app - features & benefits, and get them to install it. I also tell them to turn on the notification to help their neighbours instantly but without any promotional & commercial notifications. Everything is bootstrapped.

The problem:
In Indian neighbourhoods, when you need a reliable plumber, CA, or home tutor, you are stuck with two bad options:

Post in a noisy WhatsApp group where your number is exposed to hundreds of strangers.
Search a generic directory where businesses pay to rank higher.

Neither gives you what you actually need: a trusted recommendation from someone who lives right next to you.
What Padosii does:
Ask your neighbourhood for any contact in 3 taps. A neighbour suggests one directly from their phonebook in 3 taps. Your number stays private. Their number stays private. Only the suggested contact reaches you.
No commission. No paid listings. No ads. No middlemen. 600+ categories.

A real story:
Neelam needed a home tutor for her kids in Eta-1, Greater Noida. She asked on Padosii. Jyoti, a neighbour who used to be a tutor and wanted to restart, saw the request and suggested herself. Neelam got a trusted tutor. Jyoti got her first student back. Zero marketing. Zero cost.
Padosii is live in Greater Noida with real organic neighbourhood activity.

I built this to bring the village feel back to our modern high-rise societies. Would love your feedback, roasts, and suggestions. 🙏

Mukul

love how the privacy setup actually works both ways, even the suggested contact only reaches you without seeing your number. that's a thoughtful touch most local help apps completely ignore.

This is such a thoughtful idea for dense Indian neighborhoods. Tried it for a reliable plumber near my area and got a suggestion from a neighbour within minutes, no awkward number-sharing. Love that it keeps things private and free.

Tried this in my apartment complex and got a reliable plumber rec within minutes, the privacy angle is genuinely useful since I never had to share my number. Solid pick for anyone tired of relying on WhatsApp groups.
