Top comment

Hi Product Hunt! 👋 We built PackVault after repeatedly downloading the same packages across projects and struggling with slow or unreliable internet. PackVault caches packages locally so you can install them faster, work offline, reduce bandwidth usage, and speed up development. It's completely open source, easy to integrate into existing workflows, and designed for individual developers, teams, classrooms, and CI environments. We're excited to hear your feedback and feature ideas. Thanks for checking out PackVault! 🚀

Comment highlights

Love how this tackles a real pain point for anyone juggling flaky CI or spotty wifi, and the offline-first approach feels thoughtfully engineered rather than tacked on.

Big fan of this — offline caching is such a real pain point for CI and classroom setups. One thing that would push it further for me: built-in deduplication and integrity verification across multiple projects, maybe with a simple CLI flag to scan the cache and flag stale or corrupted packages. Would make it way safer to share vaults between repos without worrying about drift.
