I built Packbit because I got tired of the same tiny workflow every time I needed to do something with a file:
Find a tool → upload the file → wait → download it → find another tool for the next step.
Compressing a video, converting a format, fixing a PDF, or moving a file to my phone shouldn't require opening another website or handing the file to someone else's server.
Packbit puts those small jobs next to each other and keeps them local. Your files stay on your machine, processing happens locally, and transfers happen directly between your devices.
There are already great free tools for each individual job. Packbit isn't trying to replace all of them. It's for people who are tired of stitching them together.
I built it as a small, focused desktop utility for Windows and Mac. One purchase, no subscription.

This is exactly the kind of thing I didn't know I needed until I saw it. I'm so tired of googling "convert x to y," clicking through ad-riddled sites, getting redirected multiple times, and praying I am not downloading a virus, just to convert one file. Congrats on shipping this!
