Opposable lets Claude Code, Codex or any MCP agent see, tap and type on a real iPhone or Android phone, in every app you're signed into. Common tasks run on the phone with no model at all, payments wait for your tap, and iPhones work through Bluetooth or a tiny USB stick.

Opposable is computer use, but for your phone. You install an Android app, paste one line into Claude Code or Codex, and your agent can open apps, read what's on the screen, tap, type and swipe on a real phone. So it can finally do the stuff that only exists as an app: check a delivery, book something, reply to a message, or grab the 2FA code that always shows up halfway through. You can also just hand a task to the phone itself. Simple things like alarms, texts and settings run without any model, and for the rest there's a small model running on the phone, so it keeps going after you close the laptop. The iPhone part is a bit of a hack. Apple doesn't let any app control other apps, so we use a tiny ESP32 USB stick (about $8) that the iPhone thinks is a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. You flash it from the browser, plug it into your computer, and the agent taps around through AssistiveTouch. It's beta and I'd love for people to try to break it. Payments always wait for you to approve them on the phone, and there's a log of everything the agent did. The Android app is free. If it gets stuck somewhere, I'd really like to hear about it.

Comment highlights

Hi, I this looks perfect, so an ai agent can now swipe on my preferred type of woman on dating apps now? And then it'll sweet talk her and then plan out the date for me?

the line that catches my eye is "payments wait for your tap." that only works if the agent itself can reliably tell a payment screen from a non-payment screen, and phone UIs don't always make that obvious, a P2P transfer, an in-app purchase inside a game, topping up a gift card balance can all look like a plain confirm button with no special styling. is that detection a hardcoded list of known payment apps and flows, or something more general, and what's the failure mode when it meets an app it doesn't recognize, does it default to pausing for a tap or default to proceeding
