I built OpenComment AI because I kept watching the same pattern: B2B teams spending more and more on outbound, while results kept getting worse. Cold email used to work when it felt personal. Now both sides are automated — AI writes the pitch, AI filters the inbox. The channel didn't break because people got lazy. It broke because the signal-to-noise ratio collapsed. At the same time, I noticed something else. The founders and operators who were growing their pipeline weren't winning in the inbox. They were showing up in public conversations — commenting early on a prospect's post, adding something useful on a KOL thread, engaging around a conference before it started. One comment, visible to hundreds or thousands of people, often beat a hundred private emails. The problem wasn't that commenting works. It's that it's hard to do consistently. You have to know who to watch, when they post, and what to say that's actually relevant — not generic "great post!" engagement bait. Most teams tried it manually for a week, got busy, and dropped off. That's the problem OpenComment solves. We started with a simple workflow: pick the people that matter, monitor their public LinkedIn activity, and get AI-assisted comment suggestions at the right moment. No LinkedIn login required. No automated DMs. You review everything before it goes out. As we worked with early users — mostly B2B founders and consultants — the product evolved in three directions: Different use cases need different workflows. Ongoing relationship monitoring (Activity Monitor), event-based prospecting (Conference Reach Out), and list-based campaigns (Targeted Reach Out) turned into three modules instead of one generic tool. Voice matters more than speed. Teams didn't want "AI comments." They wanted their comments, faster. So we added company-level comment styles and personas — tone, structure, perspective — so suggestions sound like the brand, not a chatbot. Workflow belongs where the work happens. A web dashboard alone wasn't enough. We shipped a Chrome extension so you can see suggestions in LinkedIn itself, in a sidepanel, without copy-pasting between tabs. Early pilot users reported meaningful lift — more profile views, more impressions on comments placed within the first couple hours of a post — but the bigger shift was behavioral: teams stopped treating LinkedIn as a posting channel only, and started treating public comments as distribution. We're launching on Product Hunt today because we think the next era of B2B growth won't be won in the inbox. It'll be won by showing up visibly, relevantly, and consistently in the conversations your buyers already care about. Would love your feedback — especially if you're doing outbound, social selling, or conference GTM today. Free plan, no credit card: opencomment.ai — Ben

the no credentials approach is honestly a breath of fresh air, basically trusting people to review before posting instead of locking them in. smart move for a tool that lives in your socials.

The review-before-posting flow sounds solid. One thing that would help though is letting me tag or label the people I engage with so I can track which prospects I already replied to and avoid stepping on a teammate's response when several of us are monitoring the same thread.

The human review step is great, but adding a small engagement score or priority tag to suggested replies would help a lot. When you're monitoring multiple threads during a busy day, it would be nice to instantly see which comments are highest-intent versus casual mentions, so you can reply where it matters most first.

The Chrome extension feels lightweight and the AI drafts actually sound like my usual voice instead of generic LinkedIn fluff. Liked that I can tweak personas per account.
