Nomora started from a frustration I kept running into while traveling. A few months ago, I spent time across China, Thailand, and Hong Kong. Every time I arrived in a new city, I found myself opening 10 different tabs just to answer basic questions: * What's the weather like this week? * Which attractions are actually worth visiting? * What's the best way to get around? * Do I need cash or can I use cards? * What's a realistic budget? * What are the places locals recommend? The most frustrating part was that I often discovered the best places only after leaving. In Hong Kong, I found out about Tai Mo Shan and Aberdeen Fishing Village on my flight home. In Thailand, other travelers kept telling me about hidden spots I had completely missed. I realized travel planning wasn't really the problem. Discovery was. So I built Nomora to bring everything I wish I had before landing in a city into a single place: local recommendations, AI-powered itineraries, transport guides, digital nomad scores, weather, budgets, maps, and practical travel information. The project evolved significantly during development. What started as a simple AI itinerary generator quickly became a broader travel companion. User feedback pushed me to add transportation guides, shopping recommendations, cost breakdowns, and digital nomad scoring because those were the things people actually cared about when deciding where to go next. The launch itself has been a learning experience. I built most of Nomora using AI-assisted development tools like Claude and Cursor, which allowed me to move much faster than I could have a year ago. The biggest lesson wasn't technical—it was learning to talk to travelers, gather feedback, and understand what people genuinely find useful versus what I think is useful. I'm still actively improving Nomora, and every piece of feedback helps shape what comes next.
