👋 Hi Product Hunt! I'm excited to share Naam Jaap with you.
The idea came from wanting a simple way to maintain a daily mantra chanting habit without always carrying a physical mala. While there are many meditation apps, I couldn't find one that focused on the experience of digital mantra counting while also helping users stay consistent over time.
I built Naam Jaap natively with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, focusing on a smooth, distraction-free experience. Along the way, I added features like a digital 108-bead mala, custom mantras, Google Sign-In, cloud sync, chanting history, reminders, and a global leaderboard to make daily practice more engaging while keeping the interface calm and simple.
Building this involved plenty of iterations, feedback from beta testers, and refining both the UI and performance until it felt right.

the haptic feedback paired with the digital mala beads is a really thoughtful touch, makes it feel meditative instead of just tapping a screen. love that it stays minimal and focused.
Love how clean this feels, the haptic feedback with the mala is a really nice touch. One thing that would make it stick for me is a guided breathing cue synced to each bead, so the chant and breath line up naturally without needing to set a separate timer.
Really clean app, the haptic taps with each bead actually make the chanting feel grounded instead of just tapping a screen. Custom mantra with streak tracking is a nice touch.
