Free Modbus tools usually do one or the other. This handles both, with
a tabbed interface — switch between Serial RTU (RS-485) and Modbus TCP
(Ethernet) in two clicks. Same UI, same CSV format.
🧮 Real register decoding (not just hex dumps)
Pick from 8 decoding formats: uint16, int16, int32/`uint32`,
float32 (AB CD), float32 (CD AB) for Schneider/Siemens/ABB, plus
raw hex and ASCII. Change the format on the fly while polling —

🚨 Decoded Modbus exceptions
When the slave returns Exception 0x83, the tool tells you it means
"Illegal Data Address" — not just a cryptic hex code. All 9 standard
Modbus exceptions are decoded, highlighted in yellow, and logged.

Click the Demo tab, hit Start, and the tool simulates a Modbus device
with realistic pump RPM, pressure, and temperature drift (plus

📝 Auto CRC, auto MBAP, auto CSV
You enter slave ID + function code + address + count. The tool builds
the request, adds CRC for RTU or MBAP for TCP, sends it, validates the
response, and writes everything to a timestamped CSV. Open in Excel,
import to pandas, send to your customer — done.
⚙️ Form mode + raw PDU mode
For 99% of polls, fill in the form. For non-standard function codes
or vendor-specific commands, paste a raw hex PDU and the tool handles
the framing.
📊 Live polls/sec rate display
Confirms your interval is actually being achieved. Useful for tuning
busy buses and spotting silent devices.
