I read paper books, and I kept forgetting them. I'd finish a book and a month later I couldn't remember most of it: the interesting ideas, the useful ones, the line that made me stop. The reading apps I tried were full of ads, streaks, timers and social feeds. I didn't want to be pushed to read more. I wanted to remember what I read.
So I built Meraky, a quiet reading journal.
- Mark how a page landed. Loved, curious, bored… plus a note at that page. No timer, no streaks.
- Your journal, by page. Come back to a page months later and add a new thought under the old one.
- Tags. Add a tag to any note, like #habits or #endings. Later, tap it to see every note with that tag from all your books in one place.
- A keepsake when you finish. A receipt-style card with how the book felt, your last note and your rating. You can share it or keep it.
- Reminders that name your book, like "The Salt Grave — page 212", instead of "Time to read!"
No ads. No account needed. It works offline and your books stay on your phone.
