When Notion Mail announced it was shutting down, I went looking for a replacement. I disliked most of the options, or they were too expensive. What I really wanted was Notion Mail’s focused reading feel, but on Gmail the way I already used it: labels, filters, mail that stays put.
Gmail can do that, but setup feels like a part-time job. So I built Mejl. Labels become views with their own unread counts. Open one pile, leave the rest alone. Free covers views and a simpler filter builder. Plus can sort from a description when you don’t want to write rules.
