I built marqee because making a demo video for my own product kept
stalling at the same place. Every AI video tool I tried was a slot
machine: you type a prompt, you get a video, and when the third shot is
wrong there is nothing you can do except run it again and hope. The
output is pixels, so there is nothing inside it to reach.
marqee works from your live site. It reads the page, drafts a script
from your own copy, and designs every shot as real code rather than
filling a template. What comes back is not just a file. It is a beat
sheet and a set of shots you can still change: re-time a shot, rewrite
a line, recolour the film, then re-cut for a fifth of what the first
render cost, without calling the model again.
One rule shapes the rest: it may not invent. Anything your page does
not support is left out, because a video that says something your site
does not is worse than no video at all.
Things it does not do, so you find out here rather than halfway
through: films render silent, and sound is a hand made pass you request
in the app. It needs a real page to read, so a hero image and a
waitlist form give it very little. It is not a general editor, so you
cannot drop in your own footage. It was measured against SaaS marketing
sites, so that is where it is strongest.
