Last year in Hanoi I tried to ask a woman at a food stall about her dish. Google Translate, type, turn phone, wait, type back, turn again. Two minutes for one sentence. Standing 30cm apart, felt absurd.
Built Lingoo for myself. One tap, phone down. It hears who is speaking, reads it back in the other language, listens for the reply. Hands free.
Went back, had a 40 min chat with a Grab driver about his animals.
