Hi Product Hunt — I’m Sotaro, the maker of LimiFile.
I built LimiFile around a simple idea: common image tasks shouldn’t require sending the selected file to an application server just to process it.
LimiFile currently handles image conversion, compression, resizing, metadata removal, and several size-specific tasks directly in the browser. Selected images are processed on the user’s device and are not uploaded to a LimiFile server. No account is required.
I also open-sourced the full web app. One thing I care about is making privacy claims inspectable instead of asking users to simply trust a sentence on a landing page. The repository includes regression tests intended to catch selected File / Blob data being passed into common browser network APIs in the flows they cover.
LimiFile is still early, and I’d rather improve the tools people actually need than keep adding features just to make the list longer.
I’d especially appreciate feedback on:
• which image or file tasks you still find unnecessarily annoying
• whether browser-side processing matters to you
• anything about the UX or privacy wording that feels unclear
