Create publication-ready scientific figures with AI
LabFig is the AI scientific figure generator for researchers. Turn text, sketches, papers and photos into publication-ready scientific figures in minutes.
Hi Product Hunt! 👋
We built LabFig because creating clear, publication-ready scientific figures is often slow and frustrating. Researchers may spend hours arranging diagrams, adjusting labels, and recreating experimental workflows, even when the underlying scientific idea is already clear.
LabFig turns text prompts, sketches, reference images, research papers, and lab photos into editable scientific illustrations. Instead of producing a fixed image, it allows users to refine labels, arrows, colors, icons, and layouts on a vector canvas, then export the result as SVG, PDF, or high-resolution PNG.
Our goal is not to replace scientific thinking, but to remove the repetitive design work between an idea and a professional research figure.
We’re excited to share LabFig with the Product Hunt community and would love to hear your feedback, feature requests, and suggestions. Thank you for checking it out!
One thing I'd love to see is built-in support for exporting figures directly to specific journal templates like Nature or IEEE, so the formatting matches submission requirements without extra tweaking.
the way it handles messy inputs like rough sketches and photos and still spits out something publication-ready is genuinely impressive. feels like the team actually understands researcher workflow rather than just bolting AI onto a generic image tool.
