Hi PH — I'm Mattia, and I built this because I needed it.
I have two daughters. The older one is almost five and has been asking for a new bedtime story every single night for the past two years. Not "read a book." A new one. Different from yesterday. With a rabbit, or a dragon, or a polpo — whatever she decided that particular Tuesday.
For a while, I invented them. Then I ran out of ideas. Then work got exhausting, and by 8.30 pm I didn't have the creative energy to build a plot anymore. I started reading the same three books we already owned.
So I built Kiddo Stories.
The part I'm most proud of isn't the story generation — it's something we call dialogic mode. The story includes pauses, written directly into the text, where your child gets asked a question mid-narrative. You read it out loud. They think, answer, sometimes argue. Then the story continues. It slows the whole ritual down, intentionally. And the child isn't just listening — they're inside it.

The dialogic pauses are a really clever touch, especially for bonding during the read-aloud. One thing that would help us as parents is a simple history log we can scroll back through, so we can revisit a favorite story from last week or remember which tales our kid actually engaged with. Right now it seems like each night replaces the last, which is part of the magic but also feels a little too ephemeral.
