I built ImageTight because I was stuck. I was developing an offline book-reading APK app with 600+ pages of images. The folder was 500MB. Google Play Store has a 150MB limit. Every tool online either had a 5MB cap, required server uploads, or cost money. So I spent 3 weeks building my own solution using WebAssembly. The result? My 500MB folder became 132MB. App approved. Problem solved. Then I thought: Why keep this to myself?
