The idea came from a simple frustration. During college, I frequently had online coding assessments and live interviews on strict platforms like HackerRank, HackerEarth, and Mercer Mettl. Whenever I needed AI assistance, I had to frantically switch between windows or browser tabs, completely breaking my focus (and risking my assessment).
I wanted an AI that stayed with me - one that didn't force me to switch contexts. That led me to build HintLens: a native AI overlay that works seamlessly across all applications and is always just a hotkey away.
Over the past few months, I've obsessed over making it fast, lightweight, and most importantly - completely invisible to screen-sharing and proctoring software.

Does it give progressive hints without revealing the solution too quickly? That balance seems important for interview preparation.
I had heard about something like this a year or two ago and think it's a nice idea. I wonder are big tech firms still doing virtual coding interviews and assessments?
build a practice mode that simulates proctored environments so candidates can rehearse before the real thing. would save a lot of stress first time around.
