Hey Hunters! I'm Richard Andrews, a Product Manager by day and a doomscroller by night (losing 5+ hours every day to doomscrolling).

I've tried Screen Time limits: tapped "Ignore" every time. Tried app timers: swiped past every notification. I’d even put my phone in another room when trying to sleep. AHHHHH!!! I’d sleepwalk my way back to my phone.

Every solution assumed I had willpower. I didn't. That was the whole problem.

And thus was born... HABIT DOOOMMM.
Your distracting apps are auto-locked at midnight.
Complete habits throughout the day to earn screen time.
Use that earned time during the day.
Timer resets at midnight.

The free tier gives you 3 habits with real app blocking. Pro unlocks unlimited habits, Hard Mode, and analytics.

This is my first Product Hunt launch. I hope you give it a try and lemme know how much I actually suck at this (Built 4 failed apps before this 🙃)

Made with spite for doomscrolling.

Try it free: https://apps.apple.com/app/habit...

What's the app you can't stop opening?

This is awesome and I'm sure I'm not the only one on here that needs it. I also think the value of $20/year plan seems to be well worth the cost. I'm an Android guy so keep us posted if you'll be releasing it on Android as well.

My actual, limit right now is the native iOS time blocker. But I forgot the password :)
Can it connect to another to do list? So I don't cheat ?

I 100% need this app. I think doomscrolling has been a genuine issue that can just continue without warning. A much needed app. I will download it and give you my thoughts on it as well! Quick question, slightly silly but does it have a light mode? That I can use during the day, and does it have reminders for things that need to be done as well?

Nice one!
I think I need one for my desktop and Youtube domain
(I swear my Tiktok time is content research)

Much-needed app in 2026. Social media apps need self discipline that one only realise after wasting precious time. I used to think I didn’t use them too much, only to realise that I was wasting more than 20-25% of my day on random doomscrolling without even noticing it. That day I gave up on trying to control it myself and found this app to help me manage my social media screen time. Trust me it’s a game changer. I can’t thank this app enough. If it were a person, I would hug it with love!!

The Habit Doom app has not only controlled my social media usage but also subtly motivates me to build small, healthy habits that I usually forget in my daily life and wish to be reminded of from time to time. I love this gamification in my daily life & UX is lovely!

Just one thing: My Alexa reminds me of certain healthy habits and ensure that I complete them. Can this be integrated with the app so I don't need to manually update them. Similarly can my apple watch data be synced with it too?

Thank you so much for creating this app!!

Gave this a try and honestly… it feels different.

The whole “earn your screen time” thing actually made me pause before opening apps, which never really happens with usual blockers.
It feels less like forcing yourself and more like being intentional.

Really solid idea 👌

All the best for this 🚀

Used it today, and I can already see the difference.

What stood out is how it actually blocks distracting apps until I complete my habits — it’s a bit intense, but it genuinely works. I caught myself finishing tasks just to unlock my usual scrolling apps 😅

Feels way more effective than the usual habit trackers that just remind you and hope for the best. Definitely going to keep using it 👍

This app is awesome.
It's easy to setup, helps in realising that I have been scrolling for so long,
Helps in making a habit to get my "rewards".

The UI is simple, easy and elegant.

Loved using it.

Questions for you :

We can always fake our habits ( I know we are lying to ourselves only, but that's we humans ) .. so anything to verify that we actually completed a task ?

  • There are many categories , can I pin the apps / categories to the top that I want to put restriction on ?

  • Or can we add favourites apps so that It will be easy to select ?

Thanks for making this app. It's really useful.

I've literally been struggling with doom scrolling - this changes how I look at things in a big way! Instead of just blocking the apps, being mindful about what exactly I needed to get done, plus my habits, is a very fun and innovative way to do this.
I'm fully hooked to this!

All the best @richard_andrews4 :)

This helped me take control of my day.
I realised i was just rotting my brain.
Thanks Guys

I started using the app recently and my screen time and social media usage is already much better! And it's helping me use my time practicing habits that I value and has truly helped me get back to them! 🌷

I love that the app does not simply prohibit but ties it all back to good habits and mindfulness!

Just curious: is it talking to the Health app to autotrack the daily walking/running goals?
