Thrilled to hunt Google Vids! 🎉

This is Google’s new AI-powered video creation tool built right into Workspace, designed to help anyone tell better stories at work without editing skills or complex tools.

What it does:

Google Vids turns a prompt, doc, or image into a complete video storyboard with scenes, stock media, background music, animations, and even AI avatars. You can record yourself or your screen, use a teleprompter, add transitions, and collaborate just like you do in Docs or Slides.

Use cases:

  • Customer support education

  • Onboarding & employee training

  • Project updates & internal communication

  • Marketing & product explainers

  • Quick video storytelling for teams and leadership

Key features & benefits:

  • AI-generated storyboards with suggested scenes

  • Veo 3 for cinematic AI video clips + image-to-video animation

  • AI avatars to deliver your script without cameras or setup

  • Native audio generation that matches the scene

  • Millions of high-quality, royalty-free media assets

  • Easy recording (self, screen, audio) with a built-in teleprompter

  • Real-time collaboration & simple sharing permissions

This isn’t just another video editor, it’s fully integrated into Workspace. You can go from a Google Doc → complete video draft in minutes. The combination of Gemini + Veo + collaboration makes it one of the most accessible and scalable video tools for teams.

Most workplaces want to create video content, but production is slow, expensive, and requires design or editing skills. That’s why internal communication, training, and updates often stay text-heavy and boring.

Google Vids removes the friction. It gives anyone—across support, HR, marketing, product, or leadership—the ability to create polished, engaging videos in minutes using prompts and existing files.

Excited to see teams adopt this for faster, more human communication.

Give it a try and see how quickly you can turn a simple idea into a full, polished video!

Comment highlights

Wow, Google Vids looks amazing! The AI-powered storyboard generation is a game changer. How well does it handle technical topics with complex diagrams? Super excited to try it out!

The collaborative, Docs-like workflow feels like the real win here. We see similar value at SecureSlate — when tools fit naturally into where teams already work, adoption becomes much easier. Curious to see how teams use this for async updates and onboarding.

Love how this turns video into a normal part of work, not a heavy production task. The Doc video flow inside Workspace feels especially practical for teams.

Besides documents and images, can Google Vids ingest a Google Sheets chart or Google Forms data and automatically generate a data visualization scene and script to explain the numbers?

Great for turning docs into quick corporate briefings, but it lacks the creative magic of tools like Runway or Sora. It’s efficient for enterprise, just don't expect cinematic results.

What are the differences between Google Vids and Heygen, Synthesia, CapCut, etc.?

@Google Google bringing AI video creation into Workspace is a big move. Turning docs or prompts into full video storyboards with AI avatars and teleprompters removes the production barrier for teams.

How does Google Vids handle brand consistency across videos? Can teams upload custom assets, fonts, or style guides to keep videos on brand?

Wow that looks like a great way to give a quick product pitch!

Created videos are commercially usable?

Interesting launch 👀

But curious to learn how Google VID handles data safety and governance as it’s adopted by teams!

And how does it manage PII exposure, access control, and prompt/data safeguards in real-world workflows? As AI tools go mainstream inside organizations, these controls become just as important as the capabilities themselves.

Looking forward to seeing how this evolves.

This is awesome! I don't need to navigate out/switch between apps anymore. Also like how Veo3.1 is embedded in Google Vids.

I have tried Google Vids and it's great tool for working professionals to create and edit existing videos. Collaboration feature is great for team work. However, it's a little slow. Expecting it to be a bit smoother and faster.

Loved it.

When I see how AI videos are progressing each day, I am afraid that human beings will not be needed anymore. 😭
