free legal text sanitizer
100% client-side text redactor for law firms (No servers).
Lawyers are putting client data at risk by pasting contracts into public AI models like ChatGPT. We built a 100% free, client-side text sanitizer that instantly masks names, emails, dollar amounts, and dates before you use AI. No data leaves your browser.
Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I noticed a terrifying trend: Associates at law firms are copying highly sensitive M&A contracts and pasting them straight into public LLMs (ChatGPT/Claude) to get quick summaries. This completely violates attorney-client privilege because that data is saved on public servers.
So, we built the Free Legal Text Sanitizer.
It’s a dead-simple, 100% client-side tool. You paste your contract, and our Regex engine instantly masks all PII (Emails, Phones, Dollar Amounts, Dates). Your text never leaves your browser. Once sanitized, you can safely paste it into any public AI.
We built this as a lightweight spin-off from our main enterprise product (NullTrace Core - a $4k/mo secure AI engine).
Try it out and let me know if we missed any Regex edge cases!
Cheers, The NullTrace Team
Pasted in a messy contract and the redactor caught every dollar figure and date without me tweaking anything, which was a nice surprise. Client-side only is the right call for this.
love that it runs entirely client-side and nothing leaves the browser, honestly that's the whole reason i'd trust it with real case files. the fact that it's free too is kind of wild for something lawyers actually need
Drag and drop on a sample NDA and it caught the dollar amount and two email addresses I missed on first read. Nice that everything stays local, would be great to see custom entity patterns added soon.
Would love a way to save custom entity types or domain-specific terms beyond the defaults, like "jurisdiction" or specific contract clause names, so the sanitizer learns what matters in my practice area.
the client-side approach is genuinely the right call here, no server roundtrip means there's literally nothing to leak in the first place. really thoughtful build for something that's free.
