Hi Product Hunt! 👋
I'm excited to introduce FrameAnim.
I built it because I wanted a simple, accessible animation tool that works instantly in the browser—no downloads, no accounts, and no complicated setup.
Features include:
• 🎨 Frame-by-frame drawing
• 🧅 Onion skinning
• 🗂️ Layers
• ✨ Glow effects
• 🎞️ Timeline-based animation
• 📤 Export to GIF, WebM, and MP4
• 🌐 Works entirely in your browser
Whether you're learning animation, making GIFs, or sketching ideas, FrameAnim is designed to get out of your way so you can focus on creating.
This is an early release, and I'd love your feedback. Let me know what features you'd like to see next or if you run into any issues. Every suggestion helps shape the roadmap.
Thanks for checking out FrameAnim!
How well does the onion skinning handle when you're working with a ton of layers at once, any lag or slowdowns in the browser?
Does the onion skinning only reference the previous frame, or can you adjust how many frames back and forward it shows while you draw?
Does the onion skinning let you adjust how many frames back and forward it shows, or is it a fixed number?
Finally tried this and the onion skinning actually feels right out of the box, which surprised me. Layering plus timeline in a browser without lag is genuinely useful for quick sketches.
How well does the onion skinning handle when you jump back to tweak a frame that was drawn several layers deep in the timeline?
