Focus Launcher replaces your home screen with a calm, minimal interface. Set rules to block or gray out distracting apps based on time of day or Wi-Fi network. No complex setup, no social features, no tracking. Just a quiet phone that helps you stay present. Key features: - Block or grayscale apps by time or Wi-Fi rules - Minimal home screen with only the apps you choose - Usage timeline to reflect on your screen time - No ads, no data sold
Hey everyone! I'm kumamo_tone, a solo developer from Japan.
I used to be severely addicted to my phone — spending entire days scrolling through social media and short videos without even realizing it. I tried simple launchers, app blockers, and screen time trackers, and they helped. But over time I hit their limits: conditional blocking like "block X only on home Wi-Fi" required a separate tool, and checking usage stats meant yet another app — each with its own subscription and ads. Using too many apps to fight phone addiction felt ironic.
So I built Focus Launcher — a launcher, app blocker, and usage tracker combined into one.
What makes it different:
Context-aware blocking: rules based on Wi-Fi network + time of day, not just blunt timers
Minimal home screen with icons — not text-only, but not cluttered either
Built-in usage timeline for reflection, no separate tracker needed
Grayscale mode to make your phone visually boring on purpose
No ads, no data sold. All data stays on your device.
Built by a phone-addicted developer, for himself — and for anyone who struggles the same way.
Plenty of similar apps already exist, but I'm confident the level of polish and the thoughtfulness of the onboarding set Focus Launcher apart from anything I've tried. I'd love your feedback!
