Faux Spy is a browser extension for Chrome, Firefox and Edge that tells you whether a photo or video is AI-generated. Right-click any image on Tinder, Instagram, Facebook or any other site and get a verdict with a confidence score in about two seconds.
We first launched Faux Spy here in May as a Chrome extension. Since then we learned something humbling: most people looking to check a photo are on their phones, where you can't install an extension. So we rebuilt it to work wherever you are.
What it does: checks any photo for signs of AI generation and gives you a verdict (AI-generated, real photo, digital art or inconclusive) with a confidence score.
What's new 📱 Works on any phone: screenshot the photo and upload it at fauxspy.com/check. No app, no account. 🔎 Fake-profile checkers for 14 apps, including Instagram, Tinder, Hinge, Bumble and LinkedIn 🧩 Chrome, Edge and Firefox: hover any image and click Investigate ⭐ Pro now works on your phone too. It tells AI photos from AI art and flags possible face swaps.
Honest note: no detector is perfect, ours included. Treat a result as one strong signal alongside where the photo came from. We don't store the images you check.
Free: 3 checks a day. Pro: $9.99/month with a 7-day free trial.
🎁 For hunters: 30% off your first 3 months of Pro (monthly plan) with code HUNTERS30, through Dec 12.
One question for you: what's the photo you'd most want to check, and what would make you trust the result?

Faux Spy was hunted by Duron Epps. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
