Hi Product Hunt! 🚀
I’m Daniel, a hobby developer and video editor. I built FastCaptions out of pure frustration.
I was tired of the current landscape of captioning tools: most are slow web-apps that force you to upload your private footage to their servers, wait in a processing queue, or pay a monthly subscription just to get some text on screen.
As an editor, I wanted something that felt pro:
NATIVE: It had to run locally on my Mac, using the full power of Apple Silicon.
PRIVATE: My footage (and my clients') should never leave my machine.
FAST: No more "uploading..." bars. Just hit a button and get captions.
FastCaptions is the result of that obsession. It’s a lean, mean tool designed to keep you in your creative flow within Final Cut Pro. It’s also a perfect companion to my other tool, AutoCut Pro, for those looking to automate their entire rough-cut workflow.
I’ll be here all day to answer your questions, hear your feedback, and talk about the future of AI-driven video editing.
Looking forward to hearing what you think! Happy editing! 🎬
