Elusive is encrypted email built on honesty over claims. Instead of promising "we can't read your mail," it shows you the exact line between what's sealed to your key and what the server can see, on the front page. Your key is made in your browser and never leaves it. Free, no ads, no tracking. t's step one of a full open-source privacy architecture: a communicator and file sharing come next, on the same keys. Closed source today, honest about it. Source opens at 300 users, audit at 1,000.

Hi Product Hunt. I built Elusive because I was tired of privacy email that oversells, so it is built to say the quiet parts out loud. Your message bodies are sealed to a key only you hold. But I will not pretend the metadata or incoming mail is invisible to us, so the front page shows you exactly what is what. The bigger plan is a full open-source privacy architecture: email first, then a communicator and file sharing on the same keys. It is closed source right now, and I know that is the first question here. The commitment is specific and public: the source opens at 300 users, with an independent audit at 1,000. I would rather earn trust in the open than ask for it up front. It is free, I make no money from it, and I am happy to answer anything, including the hard ones.

honestly this transparency angle is refreshing, the front page breakdown of what the server can and can't see is a smart move. one thing though, could you add a way to export or back up the key as a qr code or something simple for non technical folks? like my mom could probably use this if the recovery wasn't just a giant string of characters she'd lose.
