Dibs is a chore app for the people you live with, except the chores have prices. You agree what a task is worth before it goes on the list. Tasks can be assigned to someone, rotate through the house, or be left open. Open ones go to whoever calls dibs first, and you can put some points at stake if you want to make it interesting. Done work gets a photo or a note attached and goes into a ledger everyone in the house can see. Points buy rewards that someone in the house has actually promised to deliver.
The part I care most about is the agreeing bit. Every chore app I tried let one person assign work to everyone else, which is exactly how it fails at home. Nothing in Dibs gets a price until the person doing it says yes.
Stuff that surprised me building it: penalties with no forgiveness made people stop claiming anything, so tasks now get a few free misses. Kids needed a stripped-down mode with a parent approving. And it had to work offline, because the garage has no signal.
