I built Crysta because I wanted a clean, modern writing tool that doesn't just act as a typewriter, but actively helps writers outline their books using the Snowflake method.
It's built with Rust (Tauri) and React, which makes it extremely fast and lightweight. It's completely open-source and respects user privacy. I’d love to hear your feedback and feature requests!"
One thing I'd love to see is a dedicated distraction-free typewriter mode that hides the outline tree and shows only the scene text, with a soft background and ambient sounds toggle. Would make long drafting sessions way easier to sink into.
The bilingual RTL/LTR handling sounds genuinely thoughtful for novelists working in both languages. One thing that would really help during outlining is a side-by-side comparison view for parallel scenes, so you can see how a chapter's beats translate between English and Arabic drafts without flipping back and forth. Would love that as an option.
