Most meeting recorders send a bot into your call. Everyone sees it join, and plenty of companies block it outright. Corder doesn't send anything. It records at the macOS level: your mic and the system audio as two separate tracks. Nothing joins the call, nothing to invite, no extra tile. Works in Zoom, Meet, Teams, Discord, or any browser tab, including the ones where bots are blocked. Transcription runs on-device, so your recordings stay on your Mac. Free, no account needed to start.
Hey hunters 👋 I'm Kostiantyn, the maker of Corder.
Every meeting tool I tried wanted to send a bot into the call. A third "participant" shows up, everyone clocks that they're being recorded, and the transcript ends up on someone else's cloud. I just wanted to capture what was already coming out of my own Mac.
So I built Corder. It lives in your menu bar, records the system audio plus your mic, and turns any call into a clean, speaker-labeled, searchable transcript. No bot joins the meeting, nobody gets a notification, and you can keep everything on-device.
What it does:
🎙 Records any audio on your Mac: Zoom, Meet, Teams, in person, even a podcast
🗣 Auto speaker labels, so you see who said what without tagging anything
🔒 On-device transcription, so your recordings and transcript stay on your Mac
🔍 Searchable transcripts, plus AI summaries and chapters
It's free to download (macOS 14+) and you don't need an account to start.
I'll be around all day. What's the one thing that's always annoyed you about meeting recorders? I'd genuinely love to fix it.
Recording at the OS level is a smart workaround, love that it sidesteps bot blocking entirely. One thing that would make it stickier for me though is adding a quick way to clip a thirty second highlight from the transcript and export it as a standalone audio or video snippet for sharing in slack or email.
Finally, a meeting recorder that doesn't make me look like I'm running surveillance on my own calls. Tried it in Meet and the system audio split is genuinely clean.
Thanks for release. I already left a comment in the forum post, but generally everything is working good, so I can recommend it for work and other purposes. Like that it starts automatically after detects that your mic is active, so no meeting were forgotten.
