CodyFormat is a privacy-first desktop tool for formatting, highlighting and exporting code entirely offline. Copy clean code to Word or Telegram, export editable DOCX files, and work across Windows, macOS and Linux.
I built CodyFormat because I often needed clean, syntax-highlighted code for documentation, Microsoft Word, reports, and messages, but I didn’t want to send my source code to an online formatter.
What started as a small offline formatter gradually became a cross-platform tool for formatting, highlighting, and exporting code.
Today, CodyFormat v0.6.0 runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux. It includes automatic language detection, formatting profiles, Word-friendly rich copy, editable DOCX export, Telegram code blocks, themes, custom fonts, line numbers, and other presentation controls.
Privacy has been a core requirement from day one: your code stays on your machine. No account, no telemetry, and no cloud processing.
CodyFormat is free and open source.
