Hey Product Hunt, I’m the maker of Codex Chat. As developers, if not already, we will spend all our time in interfaces that run AI coding agents. I believe these interfaces should be open and modifiable for your specific needs. Codex Chat is a native Swift UI liquid glass Mac app, taking inspiration from ChatGPT, with the Codex App Server built in. I built Codex Chat because I wanted an interface that had mods like a built-in prompt bar (to easily insert repeat commands), a summarizer (that captures every turn in 1 line), and a notes file so I can remember what I'm doing next. You can also pair your phone, then send messages to the Codex Chat session running on your computer, customize themes to choose your own app color, and save all conversation history as local markdown. It’s still early, and there are definitely rough edges, especially around the newer remote-control surfaces, but it should already be useful and reliable for real workflows. Login with your ChatGPT account or OpenAI API key to get started. I’d especially love feedback on: - Whether the remote-control flow feels genuinely useful or gimmicky - Which built-in mods/themes/extensions you’d want to customize first - What would make this your default Codex client on macOS - If you try it and hit bugs, please open issues on GitHub. I’d love for other people to build on top of this. download
