We've been building ClicData since 2015 helping teams connect, transform, and visualize their data without needing a data engineering team.
But as AI agents started taking over workflows, we kept hearing the same frustration: "My AI can't actually reach my data." Connecting an AI client to a live data source meant custom scripts, fragile APIs, or just copy-pasting CSVs. Not good enough.
So we built a ClicData MCP server, a bridge that lets any MCP-compatible AI client (Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT and more) query your ClicData data directly, in real time, using natural language.
What inspired us? Honestly, watching our own team try to get Claude to answer questions about our pipeline data and failing miserably. We figured if we had that problem, everyone did.

We've had some questions on the security aspect of this new capability, so here's a quick recap. I'm happy to expand more if need be.
The authentication is handled via an application created in the account settings by any Account admin. It is supporting OAuth2 or API Key credentials, so teams can choose the method that fits their preferred security level best.
This means all requests inherit the calling user's existing roles and permissions in ClicData, meaning an AI client can only see and query data or objects that the user is already authorized to access — there's no elevated or bypass access path. Credentials can be revoked at any time from the app's settings.
