Clavio is a hands-free AI keyboard for Mac. Hold a key or say “Hey Clavio,” talk in any app, and finished text — cleaned up, punctuated, in the right tone — types itself where your cursor is. Per-app styles, 28 languages, no length limit. Free to start.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm the maker of Clavio. I built it because typing is still the bottleneck between a thought and a sent message — and the dictation already on the Mac types you verbatim: every "um," no punctuation unless you say "comma," and it cuts you off after a stretch. You end up editing as long as you'd have typed. Clavio does the second half. You hold a key or just say "Hey Clavio," talk in any app, and it doesn't transcribe — it writes: filler gone, real punctuation and paragraphs, in the tone that app calls for (email-grade in Mail, loose in a chat). No length limit. It can go fully hands-free with a wake word gated to an on-device voiceprint, so only your voice fires it — and your voiceprint never leaves the Mac; audio is deleted the moment it's transcribed. A few things people tend to like: per-app profiles (each app remembers how you summon it and its own style), a personal dictionary for names/jargon, snippets, and dictation in 28 languages including mixing them mid-sentence. It's free to really use — 3,000 polished words every month, no card. Pro removes the cap for £12/mo. I'd genuinely love your feedback — what would make this a daily driver for you? Happy to answer anything in the thread all day. 🙏

Comment highlights

Finally tried it with Slack and was surprised how well it picked up my usual rambling tone without me having to edit much afterwards. The hands-free trigger actually works reliably, which I did not expect.

Finally tried Clavio yesterday and the per-app tone thing is genuinely handy, especially switching between Slack and a more formal doc. Punctuation cleanup caught me off guard in a good way.

The per-app styles are a really thoughtful touch, and the no-length-limit thing is huge for anyone who thinks faster than they type.
