Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I’m an indie filmmaker who got tired of cloud fees and messy folders for visual references
I built CineKive: a free, open-source, local-first archive. It runs completely offline, using local AI for instant natural language shot searching. Your data stays yours.

How does the local AI for natural language search actually handle things without sending any data out, and is it robust enough to recognize stylistic terms like "shot on 35mm, handheld, golden hour"?
Pulled it onto my machine last night and was surprised how snappy the local search feels, found a dusty reference shot just by typing a rough description. Local-first moodboards are a solid call.
Finally a reference manager that doesn't force a subscription just to find a frame. The local AI search actually understood my messy queries and returned relevant shots from a folder of thousands in seconds. Genuinely useful for indie workflows.
local-first moodboard tools are exactly what I've been wanting, and the natural language search actually pulled the right frames from my mess of a reference folder in seconds.
