Hi Product Hunt! I’m Charlotte, maker of Chomp 👋.
I built Chomp because I’m a recovering tab hoarder. Closing a tab feels final, so the pile grows until Chrome becomes its own filing system. I realised that keeping tabs open is more of a psychological state.
Chomp makes that decision less stressful because it makes it for you! When your tab count crosses your limit, a little monster finds the stalest tab and starts a visible countdown. You can rescue it, eat it now, or let Chomp close it. Anything eaten goes into a searchable local 'Belly', so undoing or reopening it is easy.
Your tab data stays on your device. Optional product-usage events are shared only if you explicitly opt in, and never include URLs, titles, page content, search terms or anything you type.
Chomp is free. I’d especially love feedback from fellow tab hoarders: does the countdown feel reassuring, annoying, or just hungry enough?
