Hey Product Hunt! ππΎ
I'm Aidan β a barista, cat owner, and first-time founder. I built CatMe AI because I wanted something fun and personal: turn my selfie into a cute chibi cat avatar that still keeps my
hairstyle, expression, and outfit.
Most AI avatar apps give you dozens of random styles. CatMe does one thing well β you upload a photo, pick a cat breed, and get a shareable cat version of *you* in seconds. Perfect for profile pics, Instagram, TikTok, or sending to friends who love cats.
How it works:
1. Upload a selfie
2. Pick a breed (Ragdoll, British Shorthair, and more)
3. Generate & download β 5 free per day, no credit card needed
This is my very first app. I taught myself to build it from scratch β web app, AI pipeline,
Stripe payments, everything. If people enjoy it, I'm planning animated GIFs and personal
sticker packs for LINE/WhatsApp based on what users actually want.
I'd love your honest feedback:
- Does the output feel like "you" as a cat?
- What would make you come back β stickers, GIFs, more breeds?
- Anything confusing in the flow?
Try it free and let me know what you think. Every comment helps a solo founder learn. Thank you! π§‘

Honestly this looks super fun, I would actually use it. One thing though, could you add an option to keep the background from the original photo or blur it out a bit? Right now it seems like you just get the cat on a plain backdrop, which kind of loses the vibe of the original selfie. Would make the avatars feel way more personal.
the cartoon version actually kept my messy hair and grumpy expression which felt oddly charming, way better than the usual filters that flatten everything into one cute blob.
The way it preserves your actual hairstyle and outfit instead of just slapping on generic cat features is genuinely impressive, feels way more personal than most avatar tools out there.
The way it preserves hairstyle and outfit while catifying everything else is genuinely clever, not just slapping ears on a face. Took about 40 seconds for me too.
the breed selection is a really nice touch, way more thoughtful than just slapping cat ears on a face. keeping the hairstyle and outfit intact is the kind of detail that actually makes it feel personal.
