I studied Building. During my fieldwork, I spent enough time on real construction sites to see the same two things happen over and over.
Materials would go missing. Cement, blocks, rebar, tiles. Nobody could tell you exactly when or how, because nothing was really tracked. It was just quietly absorbed into the cost of the project.
And the clients paying for those builds, especially the ones paying from abroad, were always calling. Always worried. Always trying to figure out what was actually happening with their money. There was no honest way to answer them, because nobody on site had a real answer either.
That's where BuildPanda started. Not as a construction OS. Just as a way for the person paying for a build to actually see what was happening with it.
The more we talked to contractors, though, the more we realised the same visibility gap was hurting them too. They wanted to run their projects properly. They just didn't have the tools built for how construction actually works here.
