BriefClear takes a raw, messy client brief — the kind full of "make it look modern, you know what I mean" — and turns it into a structured spec: goal, audience, must-have elements, style direction, and a list of specific questions to ask the client before starting. Built for freelancers and designers tired of chasing clarity after the brief lands. No signup, first 3 conversions are free, then $9/month.

Hey everyone! I built BriefClear after getting tired of chasing clients with follow-up questions every time I got a vague brief. It's a small tool — paste the raw brief, get back a structured spec plus a list of questions to ask before starting. Built solo with vanilla JS + Vercel + Claude for the parsing. Would love any feedback, especially if you deal with client briefs regularly!

Comment highlights

love that you put a "questions to ask the client" section right in the output, that's the part most brief tools skip and it's the part that actually saves a project. also nice move making the first three free with no signup.

Finally something that saves me from three rounds of "can you clarify what you meant." The questions it pulls out are sharper than what I'd write myself at midnight.

Would love to see a version history for each brief so you can see how a spec evolved after the client answered your questions. Helps when you end up sending a follow up brief weeks later and want to remind yourself what was already clarified.

How well does it handle briefs that lean heavily on visual references or vague phrases like "minimal but warm," does it actually flag ambiguity or just reformat it?
