Hey PH! Robleh here, one of the makers of Boom.

This is our second launch - we hit #1 back in 2024. Since then we completely rebuilt the app. New app icon, new site, new domain, new everything.

Here's the thesis: in a world flooding with AI-generated content, showing up live on camera is becoming the ultimate trust signal. Real face, real voice, real presence. That's what Boom is for.

Boom 2.0 is focused on two things:
→ Presenting live on calls (Zoom, Meet, Teams + other video apps) with pro layouts and scene switching
→ Recording videos that are finished when you stop talking...no editing, no timeline

Think OBS power without the OBS pain.

New in 2.0:
→ Screen recording with layout switching
→ Stream Deck integration
→ Better AI camera enhancements
→ Completely redesigned interface

We built this for coaches, course creators, founders—anyone whose face is their business and wants to grow with video.

Appreciate your support and happy to answer questions!

Wait, this is actually clever. I've been looking for something that lets me record screen + camera without the awkward "which window am I sharing" dance on Zoom calls. The instant editing thing is interesting too—most screen recorders give you a 2GB file and say "good luck."

Question: does it handle high-res recording well? Like if I'm demoing design work or showing code, will it stay crisp or does it compress it into potato quality?

Also curious how the AI editing works. Is it actually smart about cutting dead air and mistakes, or does it just trim silence?

Congrats on the launch! 🚀

Awesome! I need to try this out for my next video on YouTube. I’ve used mmhmmm in the past. I always like to shoot videos like it’s live. Minimal edits afterwards.

Congratulation on the launch! To be honest - I have accepted clunky web conferencing as a fact of life for years. So when I first read the description above, I didn't think twice about it. But then when I actually downloaded this app, I was like holy cow, this is great, and I would definitely use this. This makes looking credible and polished when giving presentations effortless rather than a chore.

One question for the team: If the giants like Google or Zoom decide to bake these cinematic features directly into their platforms tomorrow, what’s the "moat" for Boom? How do you stay ahead of them?

Whoa, Boom video looks incredible! The no post-production workflow is a game changer. How does the Stream Deck integration handle custom transitions between scenes? Super curious!

When someone is choosing between OBS, Ecamm, Loom, and “meeting enhancer” tools, what are the decisive switching triggers you’ve observed in practice?

This looks great. I've fiddled with OBS before , I liked the price point, but I don't remember how many videos i watched to help me understand how to configure it (which i've forgotten by now). This Boom app looks like it can take the fear out of getting started again. If I weren't afraid to download software on my computer, I'd grab it now. Instead will have to wait until I get in front of my test machine. Thanks for providing video content to explain the tool. Looks easy to get started. Congrats on the launch and thank you for putting in the time to create a quality explainer video upfront.

Hey! I recognize that guy in the video! Congrats again on the launch! Boom is my daily screen recorded & virtual camera for all my zoom calls. Such an incredibly well-crafted product. Proud of you!

WOW! This looks amazing. great work and congrats on the launch.

@robjama it's great to see BOOM v2 out in the world. You took all the feedback and made what was great, even better! Keep going!

I'm a Boom lifetime customer. It's 10/10 software (which is... rare now-a-days).

I use it in every call (now my default camera) and often surprise people with a quick share of something without the screenshare hi-jack of zoom & the "can you see my screen" discussion interuption?

I also use it to create videos and share them straight to social/slack

I've been using Boom since it launched, and this update is my favourite. Presenting live on calls feels so smooth and easy to use. Changed the game for when I deliver course material to my community. Congratulations on the launch @robjama and @krishsatya 🎉

How can I set up that in teams it shows the boom window for the screen share? Currently when I share and have 4 people in the call I am a small window.

Love it!!! Huge congrats to @robjama and the team!

Love the recording feature. Does a great with those camera side by side videos instead of your bobbing head blocking the video
