This is cool, is there a tagging with friends you visited the places with? Community interaction could push adoption.
Also, could you possibly prompt users to the app when on the move? Check on their IP address and if different to their home place a nudge to upload?
I used to search online for recommended local hidden spots, but sometimes I was greatly disappointed when I actually visited them. I'm curious about how BeenThere discovers these uncovering hidden gems. However, I really like its feature of collecting travel footprints.
