I built this because I watched talented South African freelancers lose 20% of every invoice to platforms that were never designed for their market. USD-only payments, currency conversion costs, and zero local support. The work was world-class. The platform experience was not.
Aura Social fixes the fee structure first. Freelancers keep 100% of their rate. No commission, no hidden deductions. The platform fee sits on the client side only.
Everything else follows from that. Escrow on every contract so clients only pay for approved work. Milestone payments so freelancers get paid throughout a project, not just at the end. Built-in contracts, file delivery, video meetings, and dispute resolution — the full workflow without leaving the platform.
We started in South Africa and just opened to the world. International clients can hire and pay in USD. SA freelancers earn in ZAR with no conversion tax. The same model works for any emerging market where dollar-denominated platforms underserve skilled professionals.
