I'm Igor, CEO and co-founder of Attar, a native compiler for web apps.
Attar compiles JavaScript and TypeScript ahead of time into machine code, with Blink handling rendering, layout and input. Eight weeks into the project, our early SDK already compiles React, CSS imports, Tailwind styles and selected shadcn/ui components.
We’ve also been exploring what this approach means for existing Electron apps. In an earlier comparison of balena Etcher on the same Mac, we measured Electron → Attar:
App size: 375.1 MiB → 73.3 MiB
Idle memory: 293.9 MB → 91.8 MB
Median time to first window: 1,081 ms → 469 ms
