This started because a client asked me to do research on migrating their Airtable base to Postgres, and I assumed it'd be a straightforward export/import job. It wasn't. Airtable is genuinely great for getting a team moving fast, but everything that makes a base actually useful the formulas, the rollups, the linked records lives inside Airtable's own engine. The moment you try to leave, all of that either breaks or has to be rebuilt by hand. You don't really own your data until you can take the logic with it, not just the rows.
That's the gap AT Migrator fills. It's the bridge that lets you move an Airtable base into real Postgres plain, standard Postgres, so it works whether you self-host, or move into Supabase or Neon while keeping the things that actually matter:
- Linked records become real foreign keys, not text
- Formulas, rollups, and lookups become live SQL that keeps recalculating from your data, not a frozen snapshot
- Attachments move into storage you own
- Your Airtable base stays untouched and read-only the whole time
It's already moved 200k+ records and 130GB+ of attachments across real bases.
