Hello Product Hunt community! 👋
I’m the creator of AspisVault, and I’m incredibly excited to share it with you today.
I built AspisVault because I became deeply concerned with how much of our personal and professional data is constantly pushed to the cloud. Subscription traps, data breaches, and invasive telemetry have become the norm. I wanted to create a solution that returns absolute power and data sovereignty to the user.
AspisVault is a 100% offline local security toolkit. It features military-grade AES-256-GCM protection, requires no user accounts, and leaves zero digital footprint on remote servers. You can install it natively or carry it on a USB drive as a portable vault.
We have a Free Demo available directly on our website so you can test the local execution and interface right away!
I’d love to hear your feedback, thoughts, or questions. Thank you for your support! 🛡️
The pitch around true offline use is refreshing. One thing that would push it over the edge for me is a built-in encrypted backup scheduler that exports to a user-chosen drive on a set cadence, so I never have to remember to back up my vault manually.
Ran it off a USB stick on my old laptop and everything just worked, no sign-in or nagging for permissions. The local AES-256 setup is exactly what I want for my password files, and it feels genuinely offline.
Love that it's fully offline and portable, exactly what I want from a security tool. One thing that would seal the deal for me is a built-in secure password generator with passphrase options, so I don't have to bounce to another app when setting up new entries in the vault. Would also help if the generator could enforce a minimum entropy score right inside the UI.
Finally gave the portable USB mode a spin and it actually worked straight from my flash drive without leaving a trace on the host machine. The offline-first design feels refreshingly honest compared to other "secure" tools that secretly phone home.
Finally a security suite that doesn't nag me to sign up or sync anything. Ran it off a USB on my old laptop and the vault opened instantly with zero background processes hogging resources.
Really like the offline-only approach and the portable USB option, that part is gold. One thing that would make it stick for me though, adding a built-in secure password generator with adjustable length and character sets right inside the vault would save a lot of jumping between tools. Right now I still need a separate app for that.
